Day 6 activity 1

Activity 1: For all Olympic opening and closing ceremonies, the athletes from each country must wear a special uniform. The uniforms change each year. Look at the 3 pictures posted below. They are pictures of the uniforms that our New Zealand Olympic teams wore in 2012, 2008 and 2004. For this activity, you are asked to rank the uniforms from best (#1) to worst (#3). On your blog post your rankings and provide a brief explanation of why you ranked the uniforms in that order.

(#3) I think this is the worst uniform because it doesn't look formal for the occasion happening. The patterns on the clothes look plain and like a kid.

(#2) This is the second best because it has the Fern on their uniform and the Fern represents New Zealand. This is a better uniform then the one on the top this one. But one thing I don't like about this one is that the girls uniform should of been another one instead of the shirts.

(#1) I think this is the best because it's more formal for the occasion happening. This is cool because the lady in the middle is wearing a Maori outfit that looks neat.

  1. Hi Francesca,

Willy here - commenter for the Winter Learning Journey. You're somewhat right in your opinion of how the worst choice is the London 2012 Olympic Uniform. I mean, it was inspired by the 1947 uniform!

    1947!

But, at the end of the day, it's got to be a bit better than this year's Olympic Uniform. Would you agree? I read this link that Rachel shared with another student on another blog. The look is kinda plain...

Here's a link to one of the articles about the new look. What are your thoughts? http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/olympics/81601368/New-Zealand-Olympic-team-uniforms-unveiled-for-Rio-Olympic-Games
