Summer Learning Journey - Week 1 Day 2

Task - Activity 1

One of the most popular activities in Madrid, the capital city of Spain, is called ‘Bullfighting.’ It has been a part of Spanish culture for centuries. In bullfighting people called ‘toreros and ‘matadors’ fight with a live bull. The toreros do most of the fighting and, ultimately, capture the bull and tie it up. Once it has been caught, the matador joins the fight and kills the bull. Although most toreros and matadors are men, there are some women who also compete in the sport.
Not everyone supports bullfighting in Spain. In fact, about 30% of the population want it to be banned (stopped) completely. What do you think? On your blog tell us whether or not you think that bullfighting should be banned in Spain. Please provide, at least, two reasons to support your decision.

* I REALLY THINK THAT BULLFIGHTING SHOULD BE BANNED BECAUSE…………
FIRSTLY MEN'S AND WOMAN’S LIFE MATTER, THEY ARE CAUSING THEIR LIFE AWAY, WHAT HAPPENS IF THEIR CHILDREN WON’T HAVE DADS OR MOMS IN THEIR LIFE NO MORE JUST BECAUSE OF BULLFIGHTING.
SECONDLY I REALLY THINK THAT BULLFIGHTING IS A VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE WHAT HAPPENS IF THEY CAN’T HANDLE THE BULL AND THE BULL KILLS HEAPS OF PEOPLE ESPECIALLY CHILDREN WHILE THEY ARE WATCHING!
THIRDLY I REALLY THINK THAT TORTURING THE BULL IS VERY DISGRACEFUL NOT FEELING GUILTY ABOUT A ANIMAL ESPECIAL A BULL IS VERY DISCUSSED!

  1. Hi Francesca,

Well done for blogging again, I hope you had a good Christmas.

I enjoyed reading your thoughts on Bullfighting. You used lots of emotional appeal and I can tell that is something you feel strongly about.

  2. Hi Francesca,

I think your logic is really sound when it comes to this argument. I especially liked your point about being cruel and torturing an animal for fun, it is very wrong.

    Kia kaha,

    Mark
